Mission, Vision, and Values

Mission
Heartland City Church exists to make disciples of Jesus in the Heartland of Kentucky and to the ends of the earth.
Our mission is how we answer the question, "Why do we exist?" More importantly, it's how we strive to fulfill the mission that Jesus gave to every church in our unique place and time.
"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you." Matthew 28:19-20
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth." Acts 1:8

Vision
To see hearts and the heartland transformed by the gospel.
Our vision is what it might look like for us to pursue and fulfill our mission over an extended period of time.
To see hearts transformed by the gospel is all about individual and corporate discipleship. It's about men, women, and children being saved, baptized, discipled.
To see the heartland transformed by the gospel is about community renewal and revival. We want to see people whose hearts have been transformed by the gospel sent out to make a gospel impact in the places they live, work, and play.

Values
Our core values contribute to our church culture and drive our decision-making:
We meet people where they are.
We believe it is our responsibility to people where they are, both physically and spiritually, because Jesus came to meet us where we are.
We grow together as a family.
We believe the church is not just a place you go, but a family to belong to. Discipleship happens in community.
We make and multiply disciples.
We believe the church is God's primary plan to reach the world. Therefore, we are striving to make and multiply disciples of Jesus.
We display the gospel in all of life.
The gospel is the good news that Jesus came to save us from our sin. We believe every aspect of our lives should look noticeably different because what Jesus has done for us.
