Day 8 | Joy

Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit. Psalm 51:12

This week we turn our attention to praying for our homes, our families, and those closest to us. Because of how meaningful those things are (as they should be!), it’s easy to tether our joy to them. When things are going well at home, we feel joy—but when things are hard at home—when marriage is hard, when parenting is hard, etc.—that same joy feels elusive and fleeting. Today, let’s ask the Lord to reorient our hearts to him and his grace so that we would find joy in the gospel, not just in how things are (or aren’t) going.

Prayer prompt: Pray for joy rooted in the gospel, not circumstances.
