Day 39 | Multiplication

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19–20

One of our core values is that we make and multiply disciples. Admittedly, it’s an aspirational value, meaning that we have much room to grow in that area of ministry—but by God’s grace, we hope to do so!

Multiplication happens when the church makes a disciple who is then equipped, trained, and sent out to make more disciples. This happens at a micro-level when a disciple commits to making disciples of his or her family, friends, co-workers, etc. This also happens at a macro-level, when disciples are sent out to plant, replant, and revitalize churches or sent out to begin a new work on the mission field.

My hope and prayer is that Heartland City will become a place where we see multiplication happening at both levels. I even hope that some of you reading this will not always be at Heartland City—not because anything went wrong, but because you are built up and sent out to help begin a new gospel work, whether it’s on the other side of the county or the other side of the world!

Prayer prompt: Pray for God to raise up and send out future missionaries and church planters from our church.
