Day 30 | Boldness

At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prison—that I may make it clear, which is how I ought to speak. Colossian 4:3–4
Yesterday we prayed for people who were close to us but far from God—unbelieving people in the places that we live, work, and play. As the Lord brought people to mind, hopefully you prayed for them by name—specifically that the Lord would save them.
If we really believe that God is sovereign, then it is no coincidence that the Lord brought those names and faces to your mind—people that have been providentially placed in your life or you have been placed in theirs.
While it is only the Lord who can save, we have a small part to play in the process. The Lord places unbelievers in our lives so that we would display and declare the gospel to them. We display the gospel when our lives are compelling examples of people who are being transformed by Jesus. We declare the gospel when we share the good news of Jesus with our words—when we tell others about his life, death, and resurrection in our place for our sin.
So all those names that came to mind yesterday? Today we pray that the Lord would give us the boldness to share the gospel with them as we have the opportunity to do so.
Prayer prompt: Pray for boldness in sharing the gospel in the places you live, work, and play.
