Day 19 | Generosity

The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:6–7
Your generosity in giving of your time and talents is what enables us to minister to our church family inside the walls of our church as well as serve the community outside the walls of our church. Your generosity in giving of your treasure or finances is what enables us to support pastors and staff, church plants, local ministries, disaster relief efforts, international missionaries, and more. Make no mistake—your generosity fuels our mission as a church.
But more than that, generosity will form your heart. When you give sacrificially and live with open-handed generosity, you’re declaring that everything you have is from the Lord and that you trust him to continue providing for your needs.
That said, generosity usually doesn’t come easy—so today we pray that the Lord would help us to do what isn’t always natural for us: open our hands, give generously, and to trust him with it all.
Prayer prompt: Pray for sacrificial generosity that reflects trust in God.
